Reaching a new star grade, brings new challenges…

Moving up to 4 star has been a long but exciting road with lots of twist and turns. Learned a lot over the past few years and still growing strong. Each month we attend these club meetings hosted by F-stop Photographic Society and we learn a lot from each other and more so from the judge/s that are willing to come and judge in their spare time. Each and every little critique or comment they have given has shown us where and how we can improve. Al thou it stays the judges opinion of your image, how your feel about your own image is up to you. In the end we make these images for ourselves to share with the world. Take it as you may, each little critique or comment will help you improve your creation of your future images.

Below is the result from the meeting.

At our last meeting we had the opportunity to meet one of the great if not the best wildlife photographer that I have met via social networks. Marlon du Toit  is one of my inspirational photographer. His images are absolutely amazing. Been following him on the social websites and gained a lot by what he is will to share with the his followers. He is part of the Wild-Eye team, whose main focus is sharing and taking photographers out on safari trips mostly in Africa. If you love nature and making images of wildlife, Marlon and the rest of the team is a great inspiration, look them up.

Last week Wednesday was our club meeting again…. Judge was a bit on the slow side and made a cold evening longer even thou there where only a few people attending. But he did give some great comments on the images and learn a lot on where we can improve on it. Getting so close to move up to 4 star and then it starts getting tougher.

Below is the result from last night.

The judge we had last night was from the Benoni/Boksburg club and what an amazing artist. She mostly does alter reality work. Something I would like to start playing with one day. Have a look at her work here, http://www.lkphotography.co.za/
